# What kind of image should I upload for a custom avatar?

For best results, upload one clear, centered, forward-facing face or face-like subject.

Make sure both eyes are visible, with the nose, mouth, chin, and forehead not cropped or covered. Even lighting helps a lot, and the image should be a PNG or JPEG.
